Tribological properties of graphene and ZDDP as compound lubricant additives

In order to explore the compound properties of graphene, as lubricating oil additive, and zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate (ZDDP) additive, the oil samples with different mass fractions of graphene additive and mixed additive of graphene and ZDDP were prepared by using span80 as dispersant. The friction and wear test were carry out on the four-ball friction and wear testing machine by the different additive. The diameter, morphology and surface elements of grinding spots were analyzed by metallographic microscope and energy spectrometer. The results show that when the mass fraction of graphene

Improvement of practical numerical calculation method of STF strip theory

A new three-dimensional (3D) time-domain panel method is developed to solve the ship hydrodynamic problem and motions. For an advancing ship with a constant forward speed in regular waves, the ship’s hull can be discretized and processed into a number of quadrilateral panels. Based on Green’s theorem, an analytical expression for Froude–Krylov (F–K) forces evaluation on the quadrilateral panels is derived without accuracy loss. Within the linear potential theory, the transient free surface Green function (TFSGF) is applied to solve the boundary value problem. To impr

The exploration and practice for the cultivation of the thinking ability of "data-based decision making" in teaching reform of chemical thermodynamics

In the modern era, talent cultivation plays an essential role in the transition process to sustainable development. The emerging direction of talent cultivation is intended to achieve global competence in computational thinking and digital literacy; however, there is still a gap in Taiwan. Scholars and educators have identified the contents of digital literacy, which include statistical concepts, data analysis skills, and critical thinking. To fill this gap, this study proposed an innovative educational teaching method that integrates data visualization techniques and critical thinking trai
